Mohammad Aboobaker has more than 10 years experience in venture capital, acquisition and mergers and more than 20 years operating experience in business and engineering management and IP licensing,. He has been on both sides of venture capital business. He is an angel investor for many years under K2 Ventures. He has also raised funding for couple of start-ups as CEO from marquee silicon valley venture firms and from angel groups.
Mohammad was interim CEO of a FPGA Startup, raised seed and second round of funding (total of $11M plus $3.5M venture debt) from marquee Si Valley VCs in 12 months. Mohammad was CEO of an innovative display on glass company raised seed round. He served as a director of strategic Investment at Intel Capital. Managed a group for minority investments with investment portfolio of more than $50M in 2 years.Mohammad was general manager of memory business for Intel Corporation. He started programmable logic business for Intel Corporation and grew it from zero to $30M. He negotiated major IP licensing agreements with major global high tech companies.
Currently, managing private angel level fund for early stage investments under K2 Ventures, LLC with areas of focus include hardware, software, tools, semiconductors, communication and wireless. He is advising and consulting portfolio companies in fund raising, acquisition, IP licensing and general management. Putting funding syndicates together with VCs, corporate and angel investors utilizing broad network. Also
Mohammad is serving on board of Cogent wireless and Active Optical Mems and on advisory boards of Ecrio and Sound ID, all Silicon valley early stage start ups. Mohammad served on board of directors of Sacramento Area Regional Technology Alliance and Sacramento Angels and on selection committee for Sacramento Angels.
